The Q&A format is alive and well, but most people are only using it at the end of their webinars.
You need to teach your audience to engage throughout your webinar, not just for the final fifteen minutes.
The ELITE Webinar Platform builds a unique experience from the start with branded webinars to match your company, and multiple options for sustained engagement.
Engaged webinar viewers are more likely to convert into MQLs and SQLs. Give your audience opportunities to engage with your content and track their behaviour with over 24 data points.
Let’s get into this. How can you engage your webinar audience outside of a Q&A?
Don’t save all your questions for the end, add 2-3 polls to all of your webinars. Not only does a poll allow you to gather information, it engages the listener by forcing them to take an action.
The viewers on your webinar are already interested in what you have to say, and often they have their own opinions. Group chats give your viewers a chance to be part of the conversation and discuss amongst other viewers. The key is to make sure that you have someone (not the presenter) managing the discussion to keep the discussion positive and on track.
We recommend using a hashtag on social media in the promotion of your webinar, as well as a tool of communication and engagement. While viewers shouldn’t be encouraged to be on social media during your webinar (that’s what the group chat is for), you should use it as a tool to start a discussion about your webinar topic leading up to your webinar, as well as a post-webinar tool to encourage continued discussion about the topic.
There’s a reason why video games can be addicting…they’re fun! People like scoring points, earning badges, and winning. Adding gamified elements to your webinar will help you engage your audience. Tell your audience that there’s a point system for the polls and questions asked during your webinar. At the end, tally up the points and award the winner with a prize of some sort.
Adding resources to your webinar is a great way to put important information into the hands of your viewers. Avoid adding documents for the sake of adding documents, you don’t want to waste anyone’s time.
“The modern webinar is much more of a conversation than a presentation. Don’t talk at your audience, talk with them. Increased interactivity and engagement will lead to longer attendance times, more content retention, and ultimately, better leads. So don’t make your audience wait for their chance to speak, get interactive right from the start.” https://www.on24.com/blog/webinars-really-not-interactive/
